The accident took place around 6.15 pm on the IJmuiderstraatweg. Both cars were severely damaged by the collision. According to a police spokesperson, both drivers were affected by the impact, but it is not known whether they were taken to hospital for treatment.
One of the drivers is suspected of driving under the influence of drugs. It concerns a 23-year-old woman from Barneveld. She was taken to the police station for questioning and further investigation.
The IJmuiderstraatweg was temporarily partially closed.
