Knapped defeat in Dortmund: VfL Wolfsburg lost its away game at BVB 0-1 on Sunday evening. Captain Maximilian Arnold answered questions after the game at the DAZN microphone. But the 31-year-old reacted extremely irritably to the last question of reporter Jan Wochner.
“I know you won’t taste it, but I have to address them,” said Wochner first. “Because this statistics are strange.” The Wies Arnold reporter that VfL has lost the last eight games in the Dortmund Signal Iduna Park. But Arnold did not let him end the sentence.
The former German international said “completely” several times and shook his head visibly. Wochner tried to drill. “But she has to do so if you go there and lose every time.” Arnold reacted again: “I don’t drive here and think about losing, yes?”
Wochner didn’t give up, said: “But that’s a fact.” Arnold shook his head again, interrupted his counterpart again. “Nothing but nothing but nothing,” he started Wochner, who in turn replied: “It happened.”
Arnold’s answer: “Yes, of course”. Then the Wolfsburg professional laughed in disbelief and repeated his a few seconds old statement: “I don’t drive here to lose.” He does not have the statistics mentioned by Wochner. “Every game starts from zero and so we start,” Arnold made it clear to the reporter.
Wochner then thanked for the interview. Arnold shook his hand briefly and then immediately pulled off then. With VfL Wolfsburg, the club’s record player is in place in the table after four match days and five points.
