Donald Trump’s loyalty demands are so extreme that he acts like a “wannabe-hitler”, says MP Jasmine Crockett. The MEP expressed itself in connection with Republican efforts, to prevent the publication of the Jeffrey Epstein files at Trump’s wish.
Republicans block Epstein publication
“”[Die republikanischen Abgeordneten] Want to show that she is loyal to this, well, I don’t even know what to call him, “said Crockett on Sunday at MSNBC to Alex Witt.” I have often called it differently. But wannabe hit in any case. “
Last week, Republican MPs in the House of Representatives repeatedly blocked a democratic change to a cross-party draft law that would force the Ministry of Justice to publish the content of the Epstein files on a public website within 30 days.
The turmoil about the content of the files followed a memo of the Doj and the FBI. It states that the billion -dollar financier and sex criminal died by suicide. And no so -called “customer list”. With which the Epstein case was basically completed. Part of Trump’s followers depends on the theory that Epstein was part of an international children’s sex trade ring that controls the government. They believe that Epstein’s death in prison was part of a cover -up to protect wealthy elites that are said to have been part of this ring. And supposedly on Epstein’s “customer list”.
Trump fueled these theories during the 2024 election campaign. He said that he had “no problem” publishing the case files. He was asked about the election whether he would “release” the files. Whereupon he replied: “Yes, yes, I would.”
Symbol of secret elite power?
“It is not a question that you are personally interested in Epstein,” said right-wing extremist Jack Posobiec recently in a podcast by Breitbart News editor Alex Marlow about the Maga supporters who are calling for the publication of the files. “It is about having this picture that Epstein was somehow involved in an opaque system that actually controls our government. Checks our institutions. Checks our lives. And there is really a ruling power over us.”
However, a small part of the party tries to publish the files. Republican MP Thomas Massie brought in a similar draft law on Friday, which calls for the disclosure of the Epstein documents. And who was signed by almost a dozen Republican MP.
Speaker asks for a non -binding resolution
In order to accommodate both sides, the spokesman for the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, asked the committee for rules of procedure, to write a non -binding resolution. The Ministry of Justice calls for this to publish all information in connection with Epstein. This would enable the Republicans to vote for the measure without force Trump’s Ministry of Justice to release the files. What would annoy the president. However, Johnson has not yet agreed to bring the resolution to vote.
“We will decide what happens to it,” Johnson told reporters, according to Axios. “A lot develops.”
Concern for political damage
“I think, [die republikanischen Abgeordneten] are also worried about the damage it could do, ”said Crockett in relation to a possible publication of the documents.“ If [Trump] If you try to hide this, you understand that it is most likely to be problematic for him and for the Maga brand and for the Republicans. ”
Crockett continued. “I do not assume that you will go along with something that could harm you or your fearless leader.” According to a current survey, 89 percent of the respondents support the public publication of the documents from the Epstein files.
