Yoane Wissa (28) still got his move to Newcastle United after the striker publicly denounced the blockade of his club FC Brentford shortly before the transfer has been sent in and assumed broken promises to the Londoners. With the former Hoffenheim Reiss Nelson (25) from FC Arsenal, the Bees presented reinforcements for the offensive, and Wissa is allowed to go to the Magpies.
For Wissa, the team from the north of England pays a transfer of 57.5 million euros. The tense search for new attackers at Newcastle came late with the 85 million euro commitment from Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade (23) and now Wissa. Together, the two attackers did not even cost as much as the transfer, which the Nufc on the Deadline Day was able to fix to FC Liverpool thanks to the sale of Alexander Isak (25). The former Dortmunder brought 144 million euros-Premier League record.
Brentford can write the 57.5 million euros for Wissa as the second highest sales amount for one player in the books. Only Bryan Mbumo (25), who had switched to Manchester United for EUR 75 million in July, cost more. For the former Bundesliga professional Nelson, no transfer is initially due. The variable offensive player is only borrowed from Arsenal. Most recently, the Londoner was awarded to FC Fulham, where he suffered a lengthy thigh injury in winter and, after twelve missions, no longer stood on the pitch from the beginning of December. At Arsenal he was only a reservist for years. In addition to Fulham and Hoffenheim (2018/19), another loan in 2021/22 led him to Feyenoord in Rotterdam.
