Winston Gerschtanowitz scores even worse than Sander Lantinga

A big downer for the discredited Winston Gerschtanowitz: his new TV quiz The Best Answer is a megaflop on SBS 6. After last week’s poorly viewed premiere, when 272,000 people turned on, there were even fewer people watching last night. Only 211 thousand people (6 percent market share) tuned in to Winston.

Winston is mega flop

Winston now scores even worse than the quiz taken off the tube by station colleague Sander Lantinga. Four Is Too Much was thrown in the trash after only two episodes, because only 246 and 233 thousand people watched. It is almost inevitable that The Best Answer is now also being transported to the Talpa crematorium.

The most watched programs opposite Winston, at half past eight, were the football aftermath with 949 thousand viewers (27 percent) on NPO 1 and Reizen Waes Wereldsteden with 712 thousand viewers (20 percent) on NPO 3.

Very very painful

All very painful, according to viewing figure expert Tina Nijkamp. The former channel boss of SBS 6 writes on her Insta channel: “Tom Waes scores no less than 3.4 times as many viewers than Winston Gerschtanowitz’s new quiz.”

She continues: “There is also a big difference in costs. While the ‘purchase’ of Reizen Waes Wereldsteden will probably cost a maximum of around 7,500 euros per episode, the episode price of The Best Answer (even if it is a cheap quiz without an audience) is probably at least ten times higher.”

Women football

The top scorers of the evening could be seen in the evening: the Achtuur news (2.5 million and 63 percent) and the women’s football match Switzerland – Netherlands (1-4) with 1.6 million viewers (55 percent).

The other most watched prime-time titles were NPO 1’s Classics with Kleinsma (680 thousand and 20 percent), RTL 4’s Een tegen 50 (586 thousand and 17 percent) and RTL 4’s Beat the Champions (534 thousand and 15 percent).

Viewing figures

Programs that did not make the top 15 include Stegeman op de Bres (375 thousand), RTL Boulevard (373 thousand) and Andere Tijden Special (273 thousand).
