Winning Hollands Got Talent gives Meppelse Aimée wind in her sails: ‘An artist’s big dream’

It was a year full of highlights for Aimée Tent from Meppel. Last year she and her training partner Rik van Selling won Holland’s Got Talent. And that win led to a lot of change. “We are booked a lot more for performances.”

For months, Tent had to keep to herself that she and her partner, as acro-gymnasts (combination of dance and acrobatics), were the winners of Holland’s Got Talent 2023. But in November the word finally got out that they are the Dutch talent of 2023.

Since that news was announced, a lot has changed for the acrogymnast. “We are asked to perform a lot more now. I think that’s really cool. That is of course also the great dream of an artist to simply perform and entertain people. Holland’s Got Talent has really contributed to that.” But the fame remains comfortable. She doesn’t get phone calls, and she can still walk on the street without being recognized, she says, laughing. “Fortunately not.”

However, finding time to train sufficiently is still quite a challenge, she explains. “We train at least once a week, but try to do it more often during the week. But if you perform a lot, then training a lot on top of that is still quite difficult. And we both work and study on the side. So that’s a week like that. is so filled.”

The win from the talent show made 2023 a year with a silver lining for Tent. “A really fantastic year. I can’t wait for next year to start.”
