Microsoft doesn’t let up when it comes to wooing users to Windows 11. This time, the company presents a flashy, full-screen ad to Windows 10 users, urging them to move on.
The notification prompts users to start preparing an update plan.
What makes the situation embarrassing for Microsoft is that the notification in question causes some devices to react by freezing and falling. The advertising page turns gray and an error message appears on top, telling you that the application has stopped responding.
The support period for Windows 10 is ending next October, and Microsoft is in a hurry to move the masses to the new Windows. However, the company has not made it too easy, as Windows 11 has strict device requirements that not all devices meet.
Staying on Windows 10 after the October deadline is not recommended, as this exposes the user to malware and other nasty surprises on the internet.
An ordinary consumer can buy extended support for Windows 10 from Microsoft for 30 dollars, or about 29 euros. However, support can only be purchased for one year.
