The names of Dell devices will change significantly. The old names will also remain in use, at least for the time being.

Buyers of Apple smartphones must have become very familiar with the company’s model name practice. The names of the more expensive iPhone models are suffixed with “Pro” or “Pro Max”.
Now Dell also plans to switch to the same practice, although in this case the devices sold will be computers and monitors. The Verge reports Dell announced the matter in connection with its new products at the CES electronics event in Las Vegas.
With the renewal, Dell’s current brand names will begin their transition into retirement.
Currently, Dell’s range includes devices with names such as XPS, Inspiron, Latitude, OptiPlex and Precision. They will be replaced only by the names Dell, Dell Pro and Dell Pro Max.
The image published by Dell showing the new laptops shows that each of the three price categories also includes three subcategories. Listed from cheapest to most expensive, they are Base, Plus and Premium.
The name of the most expensive possible laptop would thus be Dell Pro Max Premium.
An update on the innovation has also been published on Dell’s X account. You can watch it below or this link through.
The old product names are not yet being discontinued completely, but they will remain on already released devices as long as they are sold. At some point, however, Dell’s entire product range consists of new model names, when the production of old products gradually ceases.
The Verge reached out to a Dell representative Frank Cestone to comment on the timetable for the transition to the new names. Cestone did not have one to give, but according to him, they are trying to make the transition as easy as possible for consumers.
