Real Sociedad visiting Gladbach
Borussia Mönchengladbach celebrates its big season opener at Borussia-Park on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th July. The Foals have invited a prominent guest: Real Sociedad will play a preparatory game in Gladbach on Saturday (3:30 p.m.).
Mikel Merino, an old acquaintance from the Bundesliga, is also there. The 26-year-old switched to Gladbach’s league rivals Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2016. After one season he was loaned out to Newcastle United and finally transferred to Real Sociedad in San Sebastián in 2018. There he became a Spanish international and since then it has been impossible to imagine the central midfield of the Basques without it.
