Kembit-Lions beat Tongeren 31-27 in the BENE-League. Herpertz-Bevo lost 29-32 against Aalsmeer in the Heuf in Panningen.
Lions
Lions received Tongeren, the number seven in the BENE-League, in Sittard and seemed to have a piece of cake at home against the Belgians. After ten minutes, Lions led 6-3, but Tongeren narrowed the gap and equalized five minutes before half time, before leading 11-12. Halfway through the game, the Lions score was 14-13.
After the tea, Tongeren made a gap of four hits, but Lions recovered and with fifteen minutes left on the clock, the score was again at 23-23. Then coach Christoph Jauernik’s men struck and won 31-27.
Bevo
Bevo was able to keep up with Aalsmeer in the first minutes of the game, but saw the visitors create a gap of four goals. The team from Panningen almost eliminated the difference, but Aalsmeer again took some distance and went into the break 11-16.
Bevo fought back and tied the score after fifteen minutes in the second half: 23-23. After that, the two teams kept each other in balance, but in the final phase Aalsmeer struck again and won 29-32.
