Wilma Rosenquist23, a few years ago was a Swedish sprint, but currently a young woman’s career is on a break.
Rosenqvist’s career has been slowed down by injuries, depression and eating disorder.
Last year, the athlete felt things were going in the right direction in training, but a good episode broke into an angry septum. When all the setbacks were disappointed again, Rosenquist broke.
– I couldn’t stand it anymore. I got into depression where everything was difficult. It was hard to eat, eat and get up in the morning from bed, he says Expressen.
In December, Rosenquist decided that the direction had to change radically.
Already became ill as a child
For the first time in the spring, Rosenquist talked about her eating disorder.
The first symptoms of the disease were already manifested as a child.
– Since I was ten years old, every meal has been a great pain. When I feel bad, eating is the first thing I leave. It takes a long time to recover, he opens.
Now Rosenquist is working with the Never Alone association, which provides support for those with an eating disorder.
He considers it important to create a place where they can show and tell about their feeling of being bad.
– It should not be taboo, but rather normal. Just like the fact that you show your joy when you have done something good.
Racing can be a life behind Rosenquist. At least he does not put pressure on returning to the sprint.
– I want to find out which direction life takes me.
