In March, many people may no longer be waiting for winter scenes, but Drenthe is still waiting for a small winter pinprick this week.
On Wednesday we could even wake up with a thin layer of snow in the landscape, expects RTV Drenthe weatherman Hans Nienhuis.
“On Monday there is already a chance of some slipperiness. In the morning some small showers will pass and it will be a degree below zero,” says Nienhuis. “From Tuesday, the cold air will expand its grip on Drenthe. A depression is moving over Denmark and the cold air will enter here and it will be unstable. You will get showers that are cold-blooded in nature.”
According to the RTV Drenthe weatherman, we will already see winter showers during the day on Tuesday. “First in the form of wet snow, in the evening maybe even dry snow. On Wednesday morning the landscape may be ‘sugar-coated’, then there are the best papers for a white landscape.”
Those who want to enjoy the snow will have to use the morning, because the temperature will eventually rise to a degree five on Wednesday. “But it will be a nice Wednesday afternoon. The sun will play a significant role again, a few more winter showers will pass and then you will have those beautiful March skies. It will be slightly wintery then, but with light in the air,” concludes weatherman Hans Nienhuis.
