Is the history of Haarlem the printer’s city is a contemporary continuation? However, if it is up to the creative and innovative entrepreneurs on the making site in the Waarderpolder. Here, coincidentally near the printing company of Joh. Enschedé, the future is designed in 3D. Many small, young companies experiment in this innovation hub with 3D print technology. From well covers to aircraft parts: they are designed and produced in the 3D makers zone.
Proud
“Things are being made here again,” sees Jeroen Veger, one of the managers of the 3D makers Zone. “That is special, because that happened in this part of the world less and less.” Herman Bolhuis, founder of the 3D makers Zone, adds: “From all over the world, experts from different industries come together here to exchange knowledge. We can be quite proud of that.”
Yet many Haarlemmers don’t know what innovative is going on on the creation site. That is why entrepreneurs open their doors to the public on 3 and 4 October during the C The Future Festival. Vincent Koning from Spaarndam shows that 3D printers are not only running for other companies. “I actually pick everything up that is too small for the big printers of the other companies here.”
