Digging polar bears, swirling atlas butterflies and the birth of three lions cubs. This can be seen in the new season of the TV program Real life in the zoo from the nr. The images are included in Wildlands in Emmen.
In the program, viewers get an exclusive look behind the scenes. The life of the animals and their characters is central. Cameras are placed in places where visitors normally cannot come. Caregivers also speak and show what happens behind the scenes of an animal park. Seven seasons have already been made.
The recordings were made at the end of the summer last year.
It is the first time that a season of the TV program has been recorded in Wildlands. In earlier seasons, Ouwehands Zoo in Rhenen and Diergaarde Blijdorp in Rotterdam were the backdrop for the program. Figures from Stichting KijkOnderzoek show that previous seasons with more than 1 million people were viewed per broadcast.
There are six episodes in total made of the adventures in Wildlands. The eighth season of the series can be seen every week around 7 pm on NPO 1 from Saturday 20 September.
