Julian Nagelsmann wants to win the World Cup with Germany. But what happens after the World Cup? Apparently the national coach is on the list at a top club.
Julian Nagelsmann has qualified for the World Cup this year with the German national team and has his sights set on the tournament in Mexico, Canada and the USA. The DFB coach’s contract runs until 2028. However, there is now a wild rumor circulating about Nagelsmann.
As the English newspaper “The Independent” reports, Nagelsmann could be considered as Rúben Amorim’s successor at Manchester United. The “Red Devils” reportedly want to hire an interim coach by summer. A long-term solution should come in the summer. Nagelsmann is considered one of the options for this. The connection is probably made because Nagelsmann and United chief scout Christopher Vivell know each other from their RB Leipzig days.
However, the replacement option with Nagelsmann is not likely. The national coach wants to take Germany to the World Cup final, which will take place on July 19th. Semi-finals and quarter-finals also take place in July. The Premier League season starts in August, so preparation time would be short.
In addition, as already mentioned, Nagelsmann still has a working paper until 2028 and is therefore actually planning for the DFB in the long term. In addition, those responsible at the DFB were recently satisfied with Nagelsmann.
A more likely solution for Manchester United would therefore be Oliver Glasner. The ex-Bundesliga coach is a candidate according to “The Independent” and “The Telegraph”. Glasner is currently coaching Crystal Palace. His contract ends in the summer, and according to reports, the 51-year-old will not sign a new contract with Crystal Palace – and could then take over United.
