Wild exchange rumors about Munich defensive man

At FC Bayern he has recently become a bit of a problem child from a favorite student, and now there are wild swap rumors about Alphonso Davies. Will the defender move to Real Madrid in the summer in exchange for another defender? Corresponding rumors are currently doing the rounds.

Alphonso Davies has seen better days at FC Bayern. At the weekend, he let Werder winger Mitchell Weiser easily maneuver around him in the penalty area and was heavily involved in the goal that ultimately meant Munich lost to Bremen (0-1).

Coach Thomas Tuchel also did not object on Tuesday when he was asked about Davies’ weak phase at the matchday press conference before the duel with Union Berlin on Wednesday evening (8:30 p.m.). “We talk to him a lot. […] Overall, he lacks confidence at the moment,” explained Tuchel, among other things. Will Davies regain this confidence with the German record champions? Or is the current transfer speculation even bothering him?

The Canadian has been linked with a possible move for months. Because Davies’ contract ends in the summer of 2025, the Munich team would like to keep the left-back and therefore extend him as soon as possible, so as not to enter the final year of the contract without an extension and risk a free transfer.

But at the same time, Real Madrid is pursuing the 23-year-old. Among other things, it was said in the Spanish media that Davies should stall the Munich team so that the Royals can soon make an offer for him. Now “Sport Bild” is bringing a new, different scenario into play.

Accordingly, Real wants to offer FC Bayern the defensive talent Rafael Marin Zamora – Rafa Marin for short – in exchange for Davies.

Marin for Davies at FC Bayern?

The 21-year-old Spain international was trained by Real Madrid in their youth ranks and is currently on loan at Deportivo Alavés.

The central defender is 1.91 meters tall and is one of the regular players at his loan club. Rafa Marin has already appeared a total of 20 times in LaLiga and the Cup. However, he hasn’t managed to score a goal (yet).

Instead, the 21-year-old is valued for his robust defensive work, his high speed, his good overview of the game going forward and his header game. He also contributed goals with his head in the Real youth team.

According to “Sport Bild” information, Marin could be included in a possible Davies deal, according to the Madrid club’s plan. However, that probably wouldn’t do much in financial terms. Because Marin’s market value is only in the mid-single-digit range, while Davies would probably be worth around 70 million euros.

Only the prospect of being able to sign a promising central defender talent could attract Bayern. Because there has been a recurring shortage in this position recently.

Negotiations with Davies are currently stalled because, according to various media reports, the Canadian insists on high salary demands.
