Despite the poor points tally, coach Markus beginning was spared the premature end at Fortuna. However, it’s not just sporting things that play a role.
Second division soccer team Fortuna Dusseldorf Under the new sporting leadership, we continue to rely on coach Markus beginning. The club confirmed this after relevant media reports. After the separation of sports director Klaus Allofs and sports director Christian Weber, Fortuna has expressed its confidence in the head coach despite a very poor record of two wins from ten games.
“The performance of the last few games, Markus beginning’s work on and off the training pitch and the discussions have shown that together we are on the right track to get out of the difficult situation,” said the new sports director Sven Mislintat.
This was justified by the team’s recently improved performances and the important 2-1 win against SpVgg Greuther Fürth at the end of the first half of the season. Nevertheless, the club remains in acute danger of relegation in 16th place.
Financial reasons may also have played a role in the decision. With another coach dismissal after Daniel Thioune in October, the Düsseldorf team would otherwise have had three coaches on the payroll, including the successor, as well as the salaries for Allofs and Weber. The initial contract runs until June 30, 2027.
