The Senate made the emergency projects in law in pediatrics and university financing law after rejecting the presidential vetoes that it had promoted Javier Milei. With baggy votes, the Upper House gathered more than two thirds of the necessary votes to insist on both initiatives, which forces the Executive Power to promulgate the rules despite the official resistance.

The first vote corresponded to the pediatric emergency, with axis at the Garrahan hospital, which reached 59 support against only six rejections. In that opposition block, senators of Union for the country, a large part of the UCR, provincial banks and referents of the PRO were scored, who accompanied the proposal available to the immediate salary recomposition of pediatric health personnel, the inclusion of national residents and the exemption of the payment of profits in critical hours and guards. The rejection was in the hands of the six legislators of La Libertad Avanza and two allies: Francisco Paoltroni, representative by Formosa, and Carmen Álvarez Rivero, of Córdoba, both enrolled in the PRO.

The second vote, referring to the financing of universities, was also favorable to the opposition. The text prepared by the National Interuniversity Council obtained 58 positive votes and just seven against, identical payroll of libertarians and the same allies of the PRO. Among the supports were again the majority blocks of Union for the Homeland, the Radical Civic Union, provincial forces such as the Renewal Front of the Missionary Concord and senators of the PRO that took off from the ruling party.

In the two discussions there were significant abstentions. Three Pro referents were unmotive from the bracelet: Alfredo de Angeli, of Entre Ríos; María Victoria Huala, of the pampa; and Martín Goerling, of missions, who refused to support or reject the laws. The radical was added to them Carolina Losada, of Santa Fe, who chose to refrain only in the vote on universities.

In the vote a small group of legislators aligned with the official position, among them were Bartolomé AbdalaSenator of Freedom advances through San Luis, and Ivanna Arrascaeta, Also of freedom advances in San Luis. They joined them Ezequiel Achauche, Representative of La Libertad advances by Jujuy, next to Bruno Olivera Lucero, of the same political space for San Juan. Another who voted in favor of the veto was Juan Carlos Pagotto, Riojan Senator of Libertad advances. They completed the payroll Francisco Paoltroni, Formoseño of the Block Freedom, Work and Ally Progress of the Libertarians, and Carmen Álvarez RiveroCordoba of the PRO that this time accompanied the ruling party. In this way, the ruling could only sustain its position with six own legislators and two allies, in a scenario of broad defeat against the unified opposition.

The session was closely followed by the vice president Victoria Villarruel, who presided over the debate in a climate of tension with the ruling party. The pediatric emergency will imply, according to the Congress Budget Office, an additional cost exceeding $ 65,000 million between July and December of this year, while the University Law provides retroactive budget recomposition to May 2024, bimonthly updates for inflation and an AGN audit on the use of funds. Both projects ended up adding a wide range of parties and provinces that, this time, left isolated to the ruling party.
