West Flemish Hotel Schools on top of Belgian Hotel School Competition
Eight participants from eight different Hotel Schools competed for the title of best Junior Champagne Sommelier. The participants were assessed on theory, but also on creative thinking. The storytelling and enthusiasm were also thoroughly assessed by the jury.
First place goes to Kato Van Dijck, she learned everything about the craftsmanship in the Ter Duinen Hotel School, in Koksijde. To take first place, she surprised the jury by combining a piece of deer calf with potato mousseline with a glass of Champagne.
Robbe Dierickx then has to be satisfied with a second place. He studies in Bruges, at the Ter Groene Poorte Hotel School.
