With a Flemish average of 28 percent, West Flanders clearly stands out. On average, families in the province received 31.5 hours of maternity care at home. The number of applications increased slightly compared to 2023, when 3,765 files were started.
“West Flanders shows how strong maternity care is established through family care. The fact that four in ten babies receive maternity care proves that young families rely on this support in a crucial phase of life,” says Zorgzind, the umbrella organization of family care services in Flanders.
