Police in England have arrested a 50-year-old West Bromwich Albion supporter suspected of racially abusing Birmingham City’s Juninho Bacuna. In any case, he will receive a lifelong stadium ban, reports the BBC.

The incident happened on Saturday during the match between both clubs from the Championship, the second level in England. West Bromwich won 1-0. Bacuna immediately reported the racism to the referee. It was already the second time this season that the former FC Groningen player reported racist insults.

West Bromwich had warned the fans before the match to behave. The week before, things had gone completely wrong in the derby against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup. Heavy brawls then broke out between fans of both clubs in the stands.
