After two years at Osterdeich, Hoffenheim’s homegrown Rapp is all set to say goodbye. The right-footer has only made two appearances in the current season under coach Ole Werner; he has been suffering from a foot injury since November. The Heidelberg native moved from Union Berlin to the North Germans in 2021 for a fee of 200,000 euros and played 28 second division games for Werder during his first season. After his resurgence, however, Rapp was hardly used anymore and his market value has also fallen slightly since then.
Füllkrug in front of Arnautovic: The most expensive Werder additions
In January 2023, Werder loaned Rapp to 1. FC Kaiserslautern, where he played twelve games in the second half of the season. In total, the professional has the experience of 145 appearances in the lower house for Fürth, Aue, Union, Darmstadt, Werder and the Palatinate. With KSC, which has been unbeaten for five games in a row, the veteran could further stabilize the center. Karlsruhe would be Rapp’s eighth professional stop. Since his contract on the Weser is expiring, the transfer fee is likely to be below his current market value.
