Eren Dinkçi’s loan to 1. FC Heidenheim is a complete success for all parties involved. The Bundesliga newcomer is in ninth place, not least because of the 22-year-old’s performance, the winger himself is recommended for higher tasks such as the Turkish national team and parent club Werder Bremen can look forward to a self-confident homegrown team in the summer – at least that is what was assumed so far .

It is possible that Dinkçi will not return to Bremen after this season because, according to information from “Bild”, his contract, which is valid until 2025, contains an exit clause. The right-footed player is allowed to leave the club without its consent for a fixed amount of 5 million euros. This sum is already below the market value of 6 million euros, which is likely to continue to rise. Galatasaray Istanbul was said to be interested last week.

“If I were to come back, I would like to have more playing time than I did recently,” Dinkçi said last week with a view to returning to the Weser. Last season there were only 277 minutes for the professionals and there was no goal participation. In Heidenheim, however, he is seeded and was only not in the starting line-up on matchday 13 due to a yellow card suspension. He repaid this trust with eight goals and two assists, and at the weekend he initiated Jan-Niklas Beste’s ultimately decisive 2-0 win in the duel against Werder.

Werder Bremen wants to seek talks with Dinkçi soon: “It’s still too early”

Those responsible in Bremen have their hands tied when it comes to Dinkçi’s personnel, although a departure in the summer is by no means certain. The native of Bremen is a big fan of the green-whites, published a photo of the Werder choreography on his social media channels on Sunday in honor of the 125th birthday and recently emphasized: “This love for the club will never be lost.”

It would be possible that discussions would be sought about extending the contract, in which the clause could be adjusted or deleted. License department manager Clemens Fritz explained before the game at the weekend: “It is now the beginning of February, first we want to wait for the further development steps with him. It’s still too early to discuss this in depth. But it is also clear that we will start communicating with his consulting agency as soon as possible.”
