Free transfer in summer
Werder Bremen are still eyeing Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Keanan Bennetts after the 22-year-old winger had the opportunity to move to the Weser back in 2018. The London-born Englishman with German roots had already visited the environment of the Green-Whites and had SVW Managing Director Frank Baumann present his plans for how the “image-Zeitung reports – information that Transfermarkt can confirm.
However, Bennetts did not opt for Bremen, but switched to Gladbach from Tottenham’s offspring. The “foals” paid 2.25 million euros and meanwhile loaned the former junior international back to England. After less than 60 minutes of action with the Borussia pros, the contract will now expire next summer.
Werder had already dealt with Bennetts again before the current season and again in the past winter transfer window. After good preparation, the then sports director Max Eberl was against a change, but even in winter an immediate transfer to northern Germany for Werder would not have been financially viable according to “Bild”.
