Good news for holidaymakers in their own country, the summer weather returns from this weekend. That is what RTV Drenthe-Weerman Hans Nienhuis says.
“It’s the fear of every student. Do you finally have a vacation and then the sun is gone,” he says. And because it is vacation, the ‘lesser’ again strikes us. “Actually this typical summer weather. A few weeks cloudy and a few weeks full of sun.”
In the northeast of the Netherlands, however, it has been a lot more cloudy than in the rest of the country. “In July there was a hundred hours less sun than in the southwest.”
Don’t worry, because it is better again. This weekend the clouds will decrease and the sun has a lot more room to get through. The temperatures are rising, Saturday it can even exceed 25 degrees. There is little wind, so there is no cool breeze.
Even after the weekend it remains warm, but there is no heat wave in Drenthe. For that you must have at least five summer (25 degrees or higher) days, of which at least three days are tropical (30 degrees or higher). In the south of the country there is a chance of a heat wave.
