The management team in Waregem is very ambitious with a long list of investments. The eye-catcher is a new competition sports hall. It will be located next to Waregem Expo, close to the parking lot. First, a different location was announced: on the corner of Verbindingsweg and Expresweg, on the dog pasture. The new hall represents an investment of 7 million euros. Much needed, because De Treffer sports center is full every day.
“We have a lot of teams that have a lot of youth. They are running well, with a well-functioning youth work with many ambitions,” says mayor Kristof Chanterie. “It is necessary for a new competition sports hall to be built and we are therefore providing this very close to the center.”
