The accident happened on the Royal Job around 11 am. A vehicle that wanted to cross, was grabbed in the flank through the coastal tram and then got stuck between the tram and a pole. The occupants of the car were not injured and there were no victims on the tram either.
Due to the collision, the tram traffic was interrupted between Nieuwpoort and De Panne station. De Lijn used shuttle buses to compensate for travelers. The tram traffic could be resumed around 12.15 pm, although delay remains possible.
