The non-profit organization is one of the victims of the Flemish government’s budget cuts. This year she will be deprived of 202,000 euros in museum resources. The scheme will also have an impact on subsidies for the following years, the non-profit organization says.
Peter Mouton, director of the non-profit organization Aan de IJzer: “The decision of the Flemish Government hits us particularly hard and undermines the basic conditions for stable operation. To such an extent that the continued existence of our operation is under heavy pressure and it is currently uncertain whether a sustainable solution can be found.”
