What are the 100 most beautiful songs from Brabant? Are you going to sing along with Guus? Partying with Snollebollekes? Or will it be a Krezip or Voltage listening song? The ballot box for ‘the most beautiful list in Brabant’ or the Brabant Top 100 is open again and you can vote!
It is now becoming a tradition: on Ascension Day, Omroep Brabant radio broadcasts the Brabant Top 100. In that list there is room for the 100 most beautiful songs by Brabant artists, chosen by the public.
“So much beautiful things have been made”, says Hubert Mol, one of the presenters. “Not just in dialect. Brabant is an international province and you will notice that in our list. It ranges from genuine Brabantian to Dutch and English.”
Indestructible classics
The list is headed annually by ‘Brabant’ by Guus Meeuwis. But ‘Hee goade mee’ by Gerard van Maasakkers is also an indestructible classic. And this year may be a new topper around the corner. Hubert: “Our mother still loves Jan Biggel! That song is immensely popular so we are very curious what will happen with it. In the end, we hope that everyone just fills in a nice list with beautiful songs.”
