Voss-Tecklenburg “very satisfied” after Ireland test

National soccer coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg was able to draw important conclusions from a training game against Ireland that was closed to the public.

“It’s good when you can play a match like this in the training camp in preparation for the important international match against Sweden, in which we can use all the players,” said Voss-Tecklenburg after the game over two 30 minutes and one 45 minutes on Friday in Marbella .

The two teams had agreed in advance not to publish any details about the result due to the nature of the training. Voss-Tecklenburg said they “also tried something tactically” against the World Cup participant with a view to long-term development: “We are very satisfied today that everything went so well.”

The first international match of the World Cup year is for the runners-up European champions on Tuesday (6.15 p.m. / ZDF) in Duisburg against Sweden. By Friday more than 17,000 tickets for the match had been sold. The World Cup will take place in Australia and New Zealand from July 20th to August 20th.
