The Italians score their 39th consecutive success
(3-1) . Super Adigwe drags the group, tomorrow the big match against the green and gold, the last team capable of beating the blues

Italy’s race continues inexorably. In the first week of the Nations League the Italians achieved their third victory in as many matches by beating Turkey 3-1. In Brasilia, Julio Velasco’s national team thus collected their 39th consecutive success (6 at the 2024 Games, 7 at the 2025 World Cup, 26 in the Nations League between 2024, 2025 and 2026) and tomorrow, Sunday, they are ready for the match against Brazil which will close the first stage of the tournament. Green and gold national team that was the last to stop Italy: 3-2 in Macau on 1 June 2024. For the occasion, Velasco rested Antropova and Manfredini. In their place Nervini as spiker paired with Omoruyi and Meli in the center with Nwakalor. Completing the line-up is Cambi as director, Adigwe opposite with Fersino libero. The first part of the match is all about Italy imposing its own game: Adigwe is an important reference in attack and a wild card in serving (3 aces in the 1st set), Nervini is a certainty in the second line but also in attack while Omoruyi continues to convince. Having won the 1st set, the Italians started well in the second too but from 12-8 something went wrong and Turkey came back to engage in an exciting head-to-head: the Italians wasted a set point, the Turks capitalized on the third attempt. But the end of the 2nd set is a momentary empty passage because from the following set Italy’s run resumes and flies in the 3rd and 4th sets. Last partial marked by Antropova’s entry onto the pitch. And it was precisely from the rotation with her in the serve that the final breakthrough for the Azzurri was born which allowed the national team to close 3-1. Top scorer of the match Adigwe with 18 points.

ITALY-Türkiye 3-1 (25-15, 26-28, 25-19, 25-15)
