Players Thomas Sleurink and Arjan Westra have been disciplinary suspended until further notice by the Groningen volleyball team Nova Tech Lycurgus.
The club management does not want to explain what is going on and what behavior led to the punitive measure. Lycurgus says to keep the reason internal. Westra, the middle man from Assen, and diagonal player Sleurink are training separately from the group until further notice.
It is not known when both will be allowed to participate again
It is not yet known whether both players will rejoin the team for the important play-off match against Limburg’s Limax on Sunday. Then Lycurgus must win in Sint Odiliënberg to avoid falling further behind in the battle for the Dutch title. The Groningers only have a meager point after two games. The men of coach Arjan Taaij are currently in fourth and last place behind Orion, Dynamo and Limax.
