The volleyball players of Nova Tech Lycurgus were left empty-handed after the match in Maaseik against Limax. The Groningers lost 3-2 to the Limburgers.

That happened in the Premier League match with the set scores 22-25, 25-18, 20-25, 25-15 and 17-15. The focus was the battle for third place in the standings, which Lycurgus lost due to the defeat. The now fourth-placed Groningers took a 2-1 lead in sets, but were unable to finish.

Lycurgus shows his changeable side again

Lycurgus, which had one point left in the 3-2 defeat against Limax, has 29 points from 14 games. Coach Arjan Taaij’s men once again showed their changeable side with good and bad phases. In the fifth set, the Groningen team fought back from a 7-3 deficit to 13-13, but was then defeated by Limax on the third match point due to an incorrect pass.

On Wednesday, Lycurgus will play against VoCASA in the quarter-finals of the cup in Nijmegen. The Groningen team recently lost.
