Now that his career has ended prematurely, Goudriaan will hardly come close to a handball court again. “I will indeed not be doing much with handball in the future. I have thought about giving goalkeeper training to the youth, so that I don’t let it go completely. But I don’t necessarily have a great passion for handball either. And I now enjoy the fact that I don’t have to do anything,” Goudriaan concludes.
Super Handball League
HV Volendam, Goudriaan’s former employer, now has two goalkeepers available: Craig McClelland and Mirddyn Tol. After 8 rounds, Volendam is currently the best ranked Dutch team in the Super Handball League, the mixed competition with Dutch and Belgian teams. Volendam is in second place with 13 points, which is one point less than leader Bocholt from Belgium. This weekend Volendam plays an away match at Hellas.
