He has already won precious metal several times with the national handball team. Now Rune Dahmke shared photos of himself and his family with his fans.
Rune Dahmke became European champion in 2016 with the German national handball team and won silver with the team at the Olympic Games in Paris last year. This summer, the 32-year-old from THW Kiel became a father for the first time and is now showing holiday pictures with his family.
Dahmke posted snapshots of the sun on Instagram. You can see the athlete himself as well as his daughter and wife Stine Oftedal Dahmke. The 34-year-old is a former Norwegian handball player.
In the first photo, Dahmke can be seen holding his daughter in his arms in a summery garden, who is curiously reaching for purple flowers. The handball professional is wearing a simple white T-shirt, his daughter is wearing a light sun hat and a pink romper.
In the background you can see a Mediterranean-looking house with dark brown shutters, which underlines the warm atmosphere of the scene. The sun casts soft light through the trees. In another picture, Dahmke, his wife and his daughter are the three of them by the sea and beaming into the camera. Dahmke writes about his impressions: “Last time in the sun in ’25.”
Dahmke was not present at the national handball team’s games against Iceland. He wasn’t nominated. But it’s not the end of the world for him. He explained to “SHZ.de”: “This is the first thing I’ve done with the national team since I became a father. So maybe now is the best time not to be there. And I feel that a little bit too.”
