In Costa Rica, the Rincon de la Vieja volcano erupted today, but it did not affect infrastructure or the population. This is reported by local authorities. The eruption of the 1,895-meter volcano in the northwestern province of Guanacaste created a volcanic cloud that reached 2,500 meters in the air. Volcanic material was also spewed out, reaching several surrounding rivers, the National Emergency Commission (CNE) said.
