What started for thousands of holidaymakers as a dream cruise along the Italian coast, suddenly turned into a nerve -racking adventure on Monday morning. The MSC World Europe, with 8,585 people on board, drove for hours controlled on the open sea through a motor failure. “The situation is quiet, there have been technicians on board,” says passenger Tom Lauwers, who also gave us images via 4040. “In the meantime, a motorcycle is working again. And the second has also been entered into, but not yet at full power. A technical stop will take place in Naples.”
