Visual artist Willem Kind passed away on January 2 at the age of 76. Kind was a well-known visual artist in Drenthe.
Kind, born in Rotterdam, lived in Emmen from the mid-80s, where he collaborated with artist Bert Kiewiet, Adri de Fluiter and Homme Veenema.
Well-known works of his in Drenthe are: The head of the Hondsrugon the N34 near Borger, The Channel Diggers in Erica, The gaper in Emmen, Boat in Oosterhesselen, Meeting on the water in the Emmense residential area of Bargeres in the Oranjekanaal and You never sit alone in Coevorden.
