The Spanish car crew was injured in the jump.

Spanish driver Alejandro Cachón and a map reader Borja Rozada had a hard time on Friday morning’s first special test at the World Rally Championship in Saudi Arabia.

Cachon went into the race full of confidence. He had taken the first WRC2 class win of his career in the previous race in Japan.

However, Al Faisaliyah’s clip that opened Friday morning proved to be the fate of the Spanish hope. At the beginning of the clip, there was a violent jump, where, for example, a Hyundai driver Thierry Neuville had previously broken his windshield.

Cachon and Rozada’s journey ended in a violent scuffle.

– There was a huge blow in the jump and we were hurt. It was impossible to continue and we were taken to the hospital as a precaution, Cachon said in his Instagram story.

– It’s a shame, because the car is fine, but in this situation we simply couldn’t continue, Cachon added and promised to update their situation later.

Al Faisaliyah’s special test was called off after injuries to Cachon and Rozada. They were transported from the accident site by helicopter to the hospital for examination.

Latvian Martin Sesks unexpectedly leads the World Rally Championship in Saudi Arabia with four special stages behind him. He is followed by Hyundai Adrien Fourmaux and Toyota Sami Pajari.

From Rally2 cars Oliver Solberg is number one, but he will not compete for points in the WRC2 class in Saudi Arabia. The WRC2 race is led by a British driver Gus Greensmith before Kajetan Kajetanowicz and Roope from Korho.
