The rapper’s fifth studio album appears with Vie.
In 2023, a dark and rapdominated album appeared with Scarlet, which DOJA CAT was to get away from the “trendy and glittering sounds”, for which she had become known through releases such as Planet Her (2021) and Hot Pink (2019). Vie combines sex, love and romance
For the rapper, musical role models are not only Nicki Minaj, but also pop greats like Prince and Janet Jackson. Vie sounds like an authentic melange from both styles, coupled with Doja Cats typically humorous and divaesques.
In 15 titles, the rapper tells of love with all her facets, romanticism to self -love to jealousy and emotional complexity. The tracklist also records a feature with Dojas “Kiss Me More” colleague and R&B artist Sza. The lead single “Jealous Type” already published Doja Cat on August 1st and thus performed at this year’s MTV VMA Awards together with the saxophonist Kenny G.

Now I can disappear somewhere and touch with my people on an island of grass while lying about mediocre pop.” Nevertheless, she recently said in an interview with the “V-Magazine”: “I would like to be confident enough to admit that this is a pop-oriented project. I know that I can do pop music, and Pop is exactly-he is popular.”
Whether for commercial backgrounds or not, doja cat kept word. Vie’s sound never deviates from the 80s energy, which is known from previous doja hits like “Say So”. In an interview with “Apple Music”, the 27-year-old rapper spoke about working with the producer of the album, Jack Antonoff. Working with someone that is not yet well known is an intensive experience, as Doja Cat explained to the moderator Zane Lowe. “It’s about talking about something personal and creating something new, then getting to know someone – naturally all of these things came together. Jack is a wonderful person with whom you can work very well,” said the musician.
Special promo campaign and world tour
On August 7, 2025, the musician started a special promo campaign for the album release: the “Vie Hotline”. Fans were able to call a specially set up number and came to an interactive sound world in which Doja Cat himself reported to jealousy, intimacy and trust with funny voice announcements. The hotline made directly on the conceptual core of the album and represented jealousy and love as complicated and entertaining-exactly the tone that can also be heard in the lead single “Jealous Type”.
With her fifth studio album in her luggage, Doja Cat will soon go on tour again. The “Ma Vie” world tour will start on November 1st in New Zealand and will continue to extend over the Asian continent. Further dates are not yet known, but fans suspect that Doja Cat will publish further tour stops on October 3 after her appearance at “Saturday Night Live”.
