“I have met Johan a few times during golf tournaments in Mallorca,” said Nadal, whose uncle Miguel Angel played under Cruijff at Barcelona. „My uncle always told me that Johan was a very special person, a unique person who does his sport in a different way understood than others. As a player and as a coach, he has had an unforgettable influence on the sport of football, taking the game to the next level.
Nadal says he is honored that he has been able to shake Cruijff’s hand a number of times. “And my uncle is still very honored that Cruijff brought him from Real Mallorca to Barcelona, and that he was also allowed to play a lot under him. So yes, I like the color orange. And when it comes to football, Johan Cruijff is one of my idols.”
