After recently weak appearances, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim reported back to Werder Bremen in the relegation battle of the Bundesliga. After 0: 1 deficit, TSG won 3: 1 (2: 1) at the Hanseatic League on Sunday and celebrated a victory again after two clear defeats.
After the 0: 1 deficit by an early own goal of Stanley Nsoki (7th minute), Anton Stach (28th) and Tom Bischof (44.) were turning the game before the break. The in January of Olympique Lyon Committed poison Orban (63.) followed two at half -time.
Hoffenheim has been without defeat in Werder Bremen since 2014 and, as the 15th, keeps the lead on the basement places of the league. “It was a victory of common ground” Hoffenheim’s coach Christian Ilzer said the Sportschau. “We made each other strong.”
“I expected more from us”said Bremen’s coach Ole Werner the Sportschau. After the second defeat in a row, Bremen remains as tenth in the no man’s land in the table and currently has nothing to do with the European Cup nor with the relegation ranks.
Bremen doesn’t help early
Without their own shot on goal, the Hanseates took the lead early on. TSG defender Nsoki steered a sharp cross from left of Werder Romano Schmid with his head to 1-0 to Hoffenheimer Tor. But that was the only reason for the joy for Werder Bremen and his followers at halftime.
“We built the opponent”said Bremen’s coach Werner. In fact, Hoffenheim came into play better by minute. The high pressing of the guests was troubled by the team of coach Werner and the TSG also generated good opportunities towards the goal from the switching moments. A header test by Andrej Kramaric (18th) was still too harmless for Werder-Connach Zetterer.
Stach hit leads turn for Hoffenheim
But even with a volley acceptance of the Croatian (26th) after a Bülter flank, it became narrower and needed a strong parade from Zetterer. Bremen’s goalkeeper was finally powerless two minutes later, when Stach pulled inwards after a move across the edge of the penalty area and, through the legs of defender Niklas, strongly at the bottom right of his first goal of the season and the 1-1 equalization.
The guests then remained the more active and visually superior team. Before the break, the 2-1 was rewarded in 1899, which was almost a copy of the first goal. This time it was young talent Bishop – who switched to FC Bayern in summer – who pulled in front of the penalty area and put the shot through the legs of the bumpy from 16 meters at the bottom right of the goal.
Werder Willig, Hoffenheim Effective
Bremen came out of the cabin with more pressure from the domestic fans with whistles. The Leipzig loan André Silva, which was substituted for Marvin Ducksch for the break, had the first good final position (47th) directly from half-left, but was still blocked. But Hoffenheim also continued to play forward. However, Marius Bülter (51.) failed in a one-on-one-on-one angle against Zetterer.
The game became more open. Silva and the Derrick Köhn, which had substituted for the left outer lane for the break, gave the Bremen attack game new impetus. But Hoffenheim stayed in the game and more effective. Again the guests got the ball from a high pressing situation. Kramaric flanked the rear five -way from right and there was Orban to 3: 1 against the direction of keeper Zetterer. For the winter access, it was already the third goal in the sixth assignment.
Bremen with too little Punch
The third goal collapsed Bremen’s initial swing. Hoffenheim kept his pressing line well and made the game structure difficult to the end. Substitute Justin Njinmah (79th) still had a good shusscance after a long ball, but aimed too high.
In the final phase, TSG goalkeeper Luca Philipp actually got the first shots on his box and the chance to distinguish himself. The Baumann representative parried both against a shot attempt by Leonardo Bittencourt (85th) from Halbrechts in the penalty area as well as against a Schmid free kick (86th) from 17 meters and shortly before the final whistle against a cracker from 14 meters from Njinmah (90. +4) So strong that Hoffenheim was allowed to win home.
