Eintracht Frankfurt remains on Champions League course: Holstein Kiel beats the SGE 3-1.

At the final whistle, nothing was as usual. The cheers at Eintracht Frankfurt over the next step towards Champions League failed, the fans were largely silent, and the stadium line did not use the otherwise booming loud music. Not the 3: 1 (2: 0) against Holstein Kiel was the focus, but the concern about a crashed viewer.

“A fan in the northwest curve was injured in a fall,” said the stadium spokesman in Frankfurt. What exactly happened remained unclear at first. Out of respect for the spectator, it remained largely quiet – from a sporting point of view, the Frankfurters had every reason to be happy.

The SGE expanded its lead over the pursuer RB Leipzig to five points. In fifth place – the first place, which is not enough for the premier class – the cushion is even six points. Kiel, on the other hand, ended the 22nd matchday as the bottom of the table.

“We try to throw in everything. The trainer’s plan always fits,” said Kiel’s scorer Finn Porath at “DAZN”. Guest goalkeeper Thomas Dähne said: “It would have been more in it.” Satisfied, Kevin Trapp commented: “On the whole, it was a very confident appearance that we imagined,” said the Eintracht goalkeeper: “We knew that Kiel was not a team that we from the stadium despite the table shoot.” At the moment “everything looks nice”.

Brown only hits the post

Frankfurt ended his draw series by goals by Hugo Larsson (18th), Tuta (37th) and Youngster Can Uzun (60th), Dähne parried a penalty of Hugo Ekitiké (45., according to video evidence). Kiel shortened by Porath (73.).

As feared, Frankfurt’s coach Dino Toppmöller had to do without the battered Ellyes Skhiri, and Oscar Höjlund began in midfield. National player Robin Koch was also missing because of his shoulder injury. Marcel Rapp hit worse, the Kiel coach lacked seven players. In the goal, the cold stem keeper Timon Weiner had to fit, and thirst started.

The hosts quickly tore the helm. The first shot from a promising position set off, a few moments later, Dähne parried a few moments later against the French (14th). The Frankfurters became more determined, the well -played leadership goal by Larsson fell consequently.

Kiel hardly escaped the Frankfurt dominance. The strong Nathaniel Brown (24th) missed the 2-0 hair with his post shot. The constant start -up then rewarded Tuta, who was completely free after an extended cross on the second post.

This was followed by a penalty with an announcement: a handball by Ivan Nekic looked at referee Robert Hartmann again, in the opinion of the pictures he explained his decision by announcing, gave the penalty – but Ekitiké missed heralds.

Eintracht managed the result and occasionally set offensive accents during a lot of ball control, but without creating clear opportunities. The playful offensive talent Uzun used a bad pass in the game structure of David Zec ice cold for decision.
