Victoria Villarruel took advantage of the absence of Javier Milei, who continues with his tour of the United States, to show himself with his own agenda. He visited the Pilar Campus of the University of Salvador (Usal), where he gave a talk to students from different careers and shared his experience in politics. In addition, he toured the Faculty of Veterinary, the Robotics Department and closed the day with a protocol meeting with the authorities. An activity designed to reinforce your institutional profile and approach the academic world, with a clear gesture towards young people.

But beyond the tour, the scene once again brought a phenomenon installed in Argentine politics: the fashion of photos with dogs. Mauricio Macri used it with Balcarce, a dog rescued from a shelter in Castelar that came to pose in the Rivadavia armchair. Alberto Fernández had Dylan, the Collie who starred photos, posts and even an instagram of his own, where in recent times Lennon also appears, another dog he adopted. And Javier Milei also armed his own account – after who died – to Conan, his English mastin, whom he sent clone in the United States and from which he today has several aftershocks. He even appeared in Neura, in the program

What is clear is that pets ceased to be a private accessory to become a political communication tool. It was no accident that Macri, Fernández and Milei resorted to them: in the era of social networks, a photo with a dog transmits closer than a national chain act. The “presidential dog” became a period symbol, capable of softening the image of a leader, humanizing and generating empathy in seconds.

In the case of Villarruel, the difference is not less. His figure is usually associated with a more severe profile, linked to the military already hard positions in terms of safety and memory. Therefore, a photo with a dog could function as a contrast resource: show a closer and more human side in front of a public image marked by rigidity.
