Dissatisfaction with discolored stadium
NH reported earlier this week That many AZ supporters are bothered by the color of the stadium, which is just past the viaduct. The panels on the outside of the stadium are no longer red but pink. The 23-year-old fan Daan believes that the building is so reminiscent of decayed stadiums as you sometimes see in Italy. “Normally you always saw a beautiful shiny stadium when you arrived from the A9. Now it feels a bit like faded glory,” he told NH.
Richard Liefting, chairman of the supporters’ association, also believes that the stadium can use a lick of paint. “The stadium should be red, although I still think we have a beautiful stadium. I am not bothered by it, but it is noticeable,” says Liefting.
Whether there is a connection between the dissatisfaction with the color of the stadium and the overpainting of the viaduct is unknown. AZ does confirm that the discoloration of the stadium façade has the club’s attention. If measures are being taken, the spokesperson cannot yet say.
