Aster Vranckx left VfL Wolfsburg on loan towards Italy. The 22-year-old midfielder for Serie-A promoted Us Sassuolo will run until the end of the season, which is said to have secured a purchase option of 9 million euros. He knows the Italian league from his time at AC Miland 2022/23 when he completed nine games.
In the summer of 2021, the wolves paid 8 million euros for the Belgian, who never really did justice to expectations. In total, VRANCKX played 70 games for VfL, in which he scored two goals. Last season he was 561 minutes distributed over 15 missions on the field and its market value fell from 12 million to EUR 7 million. In the midfield center of Wolfsburg, he should have competed with captain Maximilian Arnold, new signing Vini Souza and Mattias Svanberg.
After six entries for EUR 38.7 million and 13 departures for 23.5 million euros, VfL has a transfer minus of EUR 15.2 million – only that of RB Leipzig is higher. After Jakub Kaminski (Cologne) and Bartol Franjic (Venezia) he is the third Wolfsburg loan.
