Niclas Füllkrug’s time in England is coming to an end. The DFB striker could return to Germany. Two clubs are probably interested.

Will Niclas Füllkrug move back to the Bundesliga in the winter? According to pay-TV broadcaster Sky, two clubs from Germany are looking into signing the national striker. VfL Wolfsburg’s interest in Füllkrug is concrete. But FC Augsburg with former DFB assistant coach Sandro Wagner also has the 32-year-old in their sights. According to the report, there are also inquiries from Italy.

Füllkrug is currently still under contract in England with West Ham United. He moved to the London club in the summer of 2024. The “Hammers” transferred 27 million euros to Borussia Dortmund. An investment that did not pay off.

Füllkrug has only scored three goals in 27 competitive games so far. The attacker was repeatedly thwarted by injuries. He is currently suffering from a torn muscle bundle. Accordingly, he was not nominated for the last two international matches of the year by national coach Julian Nagelsmann.

The words could now quickly be followed by actions. According to the Sky report, West Ham have already given Füllkrug the go-ahead to move in the winter. There is not much standing in the way of the striker being transferred back to Germany, where he also played for Werder Bremen, Hannover 96 and 1. FC Nürnberg, among others.
