VfL Osnabrück signs striker Lex-Tyger Lobinger on loan from league rivals 1. FC Kaiserslautern until the end of the season. Both clubs announced this on Friday evening.
“Tyger Lobinger is a tall attacker who can develop a special force with his physicality and mentality. He has very good athletic qualities to increase our goal threat from the center of the attack,” said VfL sports director Amir Shapourzadeh about the signing. The 24-year-old Lobinger moved from Fortuna Düsseldorf to FCK in the summer of 2022 and played 37 games there, in which he contributed two goals and assists. This season, however, he hardly played a role anymore, which is why he only made seven appearances and 116 minutes.
“I am very happy that the transfer went ahead before the training camp. There I can not only get to know my new teammates and the coaching team very well, but also get involved and show off my sporting abilities in the training sessions and test matches,” said Lobinger. VfL sets off for training camp in Spain on Sunday, and will play the start of the second half of the season at Karlsruher SC on January 19th.
