VfL Bochum signs national players

VfL Bochum signed another professional shortly before the end of the winter transfer period. As the Bundesliga club announced, Agon Elezi signed a contract until 2027.

The 22-year-old North Macedonian international comes from Croatian first division club NK Varaždin and is considered a promising player. “But we also know that the leap into the Bundesliga is big. That’s why we will introduce him to this challenge step by step,” said sports director Patrick Fabian.

Elezi is the second newcomer to the 14th table after the returnee Andreas Luthe. The 36-year-old goalkeeper from 1. FC Kaiserslautern is intended to be number two behind regular goalkeeper Manuel Riemann until the end of the season and will replace the injured reserve goalkeeper Michael Esser.
