VfL Bochum extends early with Erhan Masovic

Variable performer

VfL Bochum has extended Erhan Masovic’s contract early. The 24-year-old central defender signed for another year until June 30, 2026. Masovic came to the Revierklub from FC Bruges on a free transfer in October 2020, where he developed into a top performer and became a Serbian international player. To date he has played 69 games (four goals) for VfL.

“We are very pleased that Erhan Masovic has decided to extend the collaboration for another year. His development from a squad player in the 2nd Bundesliga to a top performer in our Bundesliga team is remarkable,” said sports director Patrick Fabian. Sports director Marc Lettau added: “Erhan Masovic has developed into a regular player here and has also matured into a Serbian senior national player at VfL. We are convinced that he can further develop his potential with us. His versatility is extremely important for us; Erhan can be used in a variety of ways.”

Masovic explained: “I am very grateful to VfL, a lot of things are made possible for me here. Through VfL I became a Bundesliga player, which had a positive influence on my national team career. The contract extension is my sign of thanks to those responsible for believing in me. It shows how important VfL is to me. I would like to continue to help us achieve our goals, which this season is to stay in the league again, as quickly as possible.”
